KARACHI, Aug 11: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Friday warned Israel and its allies to refrain from bombing civilian areas in Lebanon and killing innocent women, children as it would make their own territories unsafe for their civilians including women and children.
“Anger is on the rise among Muslim youth who believe if women, children and innocent are not safe in Lebanon and other US-occupied states in the world, population of the US, Israel and its western allies should also face the same fate”, MMA leaders said while speaking at protest demonstrations after Friday prayers in the city.
Protest demonstrations were held and rallies were taken out all over Karachi after Friday prayers in protest against Israeli aggression on Lebanon and killings of innocent women and children in indiscriminate Israeli bombing of Lebanese cities, towns and villages.
A large number of MMA activists and common people gathered outside mosques to protest against Israeli aggression on Lebanon and US support to Zionist regime and chanted slogans against aggressors, their supporters and Islamic countries for their criminal silence over the issue.
They were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against Israel, US, western and Islamic countries rulers for their failure to protect innocent women and children and UNO’s failure to reach any conclusion for an immediate cease-fire in Lebanon.
The biggest demonstration was held outside Baitul Mukaram mosque in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, which was addressed by senior MMA leaders including Jamat-i-Islami (JI) Karachi Amir Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui, Allama Nazir Abbas Naqvi of Islami Tehreek, MMA MPA Nasarullah Shaji and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui said that Hizbullah's resistance and steadfastness had brought Israel and its US master back into their senses and now Israelis were criticising their government and the army for recent history's first humiliating defeat.
He said Israeli aggression on Lebanon and its support by the US and Britain had made the western world more unsafe as Muslim youth were annoyed over the killings of innocent civilians.
The MMA leader said that the UN had failed to play any role in maintaining peace in the world and it was the right time for Islamic states to come out of its fold.
He also demanded of the Muslims to boycott Jewish, US and western products, services and activities to express their anguish against them.
Paying rich tribute to Hizbullah for putting up resistance, he urged Islamic countries to organise their armies on the pattern of Lebanese resistance movement.
Islami Tehreek's Allama Nazir Abbas Naqvi said that Hizbullah was struggling for the protection of Lebanese and other Arab Muslims in the Middle East and it was high time for the neighbouring Islamic countries to support Lebanon militarily and financially.
MMA MPA Nasarullah Shaji criticised the rulers and armies of Islamic countries for their silence over the killings of their innocent brethren.
He also criticised the Pakistan government for excluding Quranic verses from education curricula, saying Islam was the strength behind Hizbullah, which was still resisting Israel only due to their faith in the Almighty.—PPI
