PESHAWAR, July 10: Two people were arrested by personnel of the Federal Investigation Agency on various charges here on Thursday. One man was arrested at the Peshawar international airport when he attempted to board a Riyadh-bound flight using a bogus passport, while the other was taken into custody from a city locality on charges of forging government documents, officials said.

The FIA’s immigration staff at the airport interrogated a passenger when he presented his passport KE-044695 issued in the name of Wahid Gul, son of Sharifullah Khan, along with his old passport G-576109, said Inspector Qazi Hameed.

The real name of the accused turned out to be Warukay Khan, son of Mahmood, a resident of Dir. He admitted that he had changed picture on the passport of Wahid Gul.

According to the inspector, the passenger confessed that he wanted to board the Saudi Airlines flight SV-795 for Riyadh on the forged passport.

The inspector said that Warukay Khan had been sent to the FIA’s passport circle for further interrogation.

The FIA’s crime circle raided the house of one Sajjad Ahmad and seized fake official documents and arrested him.

Official sources said Sajjad Ahmad lived in Wenay Saray area on Hyder Road and a large number of fake education certificates, vehicle registration papers, insurance documents, motor fitness certificates, etc., were found in his house.

Sajjad Ahmed has been charged under sections 419, 420, 468 and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code and the FIA officials had started investigation, officials said.
