KARACHI, Aug 6: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that the recent political crisis in the province had been created by ‘confusions’ and as soon as these confusions were cleared, the crisis was over.

He was speaking at a dinner hosted in his honour on Saturday night.

“Both the federal and the provincial governments share the same objectives – developing the country and providing better living to masses – and this manifests from the way the crisis were overcome,” Dr Ibad said.

Consistency, sustainability and stability of policies were very important factors in progress and achieving success, and the present government was keen to maintain the ongoing policies, he added.

“Since Karachi is the ‘revenue engine’ of the country, the federal and provincial governments have been focussing on its development.”

Speaking about power breakdowns, he said the government was in constant touch with the KESC management in this regard. He said the management had sought one-year time to revamp the system and it planned to generate 800 megawatt power by the end of next year.

Provincial ministers Adil Siddiqui and Rauf Siddiqui; Mian Zahid Hussain and S.M. Muneer also spoke on the occasion.—PPI
