JHANG, Aug 5: The Dera Ghazi Khan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education authorities have made a written request to the Sargodha and Lahore boards’ officials to cancel the secondary school certificates of a former Jhang MPA and a middle school headmaster for their alleged involvement in unfair means during the intermediate examination held by Dera board in 2004.

In a letter written to Punjab Education Minister Mian Imran Masood, Dera Ghazi Khan BISE controller of examination Syed Sajjad Husain Bokhari has said former Jhang MPA Muzaffar Ali Khan (Roll No 34445) and Mian Khizar Hayat (Roll No 34446) who is currently posted as the headmaster of the Government Middle School, Chak 1/3(L) in Shorkot tehsil (Jhang) appeared in the annual intermediate examination in 2004.

At the examination centre - the Government Higher Secondary School, Kot Chutta, DG Khan, he alleged, they were caught using unfair means in the examination and the superintendent prepared a UMC against them. Later, the Kot Chutta police instituted a criminal case against them.

During the disciplinary proceedings, it was revealed that both candidates actually belonged to Jhang district and were found guilty of exchanging roll numbers on the answer-scripts.

Both were disqualified for six examinations under the discipline rules of the board, according to the letter.

The Dera board officials further revealed that the BISEs in Sargodha and Lahore had been requested by them to cancel the secondary school certificates of both the persons through letter Nos 218/discipline and 219/discipline of Oct 8, 2005.

The letter further intimates that a trial is being conducted against them in a DG Khan court.

Muzaffar Ali Khan had twice been elected MPA from the Garh Maha Raja constituency of Jhang district but could not contest the 2002 general elections because he did not qualify under the graduation condition.
