GUJRANWALA, Aug 2: Four dacoits injured a civil judge here on Wednesday on offering resistance.

RESCUED: The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau on Wednesday shifted 13 street children, some of them beggars and drug addicts, to its shelter after picking them from various city parts.

According to a bureau report, some of the children who were brought to its shelter were addicted to glue sniffing and some others were involved in begging.

The children, soon after their arrival at the bureau, were provided with new clothes and food, the report said.

It stated the bureau had launched a `rescue operation’ in the city to rehabilitate street children, and a comprehensive plan had already been prepared for the purpose.

Some of the children were, however, handed over to their respective families after being warned.
