ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: Justice Rana Bhagwandas, the senior-most judge of the Supreme Court, was sworn in as acting chief justice on Wednesday.

Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday administered the oath of office at a ceremony in the Supreme Court.

Justice Bhagwandas will act as chief justice during the absence of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry who has gone abroad.
