Rokhari elected LCCA president

LAHORE, July 26: Aamir Hayat Khan Rokhari will remain the president of the Lahore City Cricket Association for another four years as he and his panel were elected unopposed as office-bearers of the association on Wednesday.

Khawaja Mohammad Zafar and Mian Javed Ali will retain the posts of secretary and treasurer respectively.

Rokhari has been elected as the president due to a settlement reached between the PCB and him.

The PCB had earlier showed him the door but revert their decision when former PCB supremo Tauqir Zia showed interest in the post.

Javed Zaman conducted the elections. Representatives from all the three zones of the LCCA were present on the occasion.

"My first target is to regain the past glory of the LCCA which produced a number of Test cricketers and that could only be achieved with joint efforts and planning," Rokhari, who has been holding the post since 1978, said.
