SHEIKHUPURA, July 26: A man was killed while another sustained serious injuries when a speeding car overturned after one of its tyres burst on motorway near Kot Ranjeet interchange on Wednesday.

Asad, 26, and his cousin Iftikhar, 28, were going to Faisalabad from Lahore. Their car collided with the boundary wall after the trye flattened and overturned. The motorway police immediately removed the car riders to the DHQ hospital where Asad succumbed to his injuries while the condition of Iftikhar was stated to be critical.

Shot dead: A youth was shot dead on resistance during a dacoity on Tuesday in Kot Abdul Maalik.

Four armed men entered the house of Akbar Ali and started collecting cash, valuables, ornaments and other valuables. In the meanwhile, Akbar woke up and offered resistance, but the dacoits shot him dead. Factory Area police are investigating.
