HYDERABAD, July 26: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that the district government is working on many schemes to improve the standard of education.

He said that the schemes also included holding of training courses for teachers.

He was speaking as chief guest at the certificate distribution ceremony at the conclusion of eight-day training course for teachers at the Public School on Tuesday.

He said that the district government had signed an agreement with the Aga Khan Education Foundation for teachers’ training. He said that hundreds of teachers had received training under the programme.

He said that the district government with its limited resources had also introduced teachers’ training programme at the Public School Hyderabad.

He said that teachers should realise their responsibilities and concentrate on the refresher courses for the benefit of students. “Your knowledge is a trust which must be transferred to students”, Kanwar Naveed Jamil told the teachers.

He said that there was no doubt that the people were benefiting from private schools but added that this ought to create competition among the government schools.

He called upon the government school teachers to accept the challenge of private schools by improving the standard of education.

Directly addressing the administration of the public school, he said that the institution must come upto the expectations of the people.
