KHAIRPUR, July 23: Syed Shakir Shah, president of Abadgar Ittehad Khairpur, secretary Faqir Niaz Hussain Bhambhro and other office-bearers have condemned the registration of fake cases against hundreds of growers.

The growers’ leaders told newsmen on Sunday that these acts were aim at to depriving many growers from cultivation.

They said that the irrigation department was covering up its mismanagement in water distribution and accused the officials of playing a partial role.

They said that water rotation was main tool that was used against the growers particularly the tail-enders.

They said that water theft case was registered against chairman, Action Committee Sobhodero, who was protesting against shortage of water for last three months.

SUICIDE: A woman Koonj, wife of Allah Bux Shar, residence of village Hussainabad, Thari Mirwah taluka, committed suicide by taking pesticides on Saturday evening.

She felt unconscious after consuming pesticides and was taken to taluka hospital Thari Mirwah where she died.

Domestic issue was said to be the motive behind the suicide.
