LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) to direct the Lahore deputy commissioner to promptly decide its pending application for an NOC for holding a public gathering at the Minar-i-Pakistan on Aug 5.
PTI Lahore President Mian Akram Usman filed the writ petition before the court, pleading that he submitted the NOC request on July 22, seeking permission for the jalsa along with assurances of full compliance with security, traffic and administrative protocols.
He alleges that despite repeated follow-ups, the DC office has neither granted nor formally refused the request.
He asked the court to direct the respondent to immediately issue the NOC and ensure security arrangements for the public rally.
