KARACHI: Two-and-half thousand Pakistan Muslim League National Guards on Sunday [July 29] in Karachi signed a pledge with their blood to sacrifice their all for the defence of Pakistan. The pledge, will be sent to Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan to show him that the Nation is prepared for any sacrifice in a national emergency. The large crowd which assembled ... at the Quaid-i-Azam’s Mazar ... vociferously shouted “Pakistan Zindabad”, “Quaid-i-Azam Zindabad” and “Liaquat Ali Khan Zindabad”, as each National Guard came forward to sign the pledge with his blood.
Earlier the National Guards, including a good number of teenagers, fired a salute over the Quaid-i-Azam’s Mazar, placed wreaths thereon, offered Fateha and pledged themselves to consider no sacrifice too great for the country. Sardar Ali Khan, Salar-i-Aala of the Pakistan Muslim League National Guards, in his address exhorted the National Guards to gird up their loins and prepare themselves for supreme sacrifice.
He expressed faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan and assured him of the fullest support and sacrifice by the National Guards in any emergency.
