KARACHI: A young man who had been reported missing was found murdered in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Wednesday, police and hospital officials said.
Police said the body of Mir Raza Ali, 25, bearing a gunshot wound, was found in bushes near Shahi Qila Ground in Block-1, Gulistan-i-Jauhar.
The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said the deceased had sustained a single penetrating gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim had gone missing within the remit of the Ferozabad police station on July 28.
East SSP Zubair Nazir Shaikh told Dawn that the case was not one of kidnapping. He said the victim had left his home in PECHS Block-2 after informing his parents that he would return.
The SSP said the victim had hired an online taxi, whose driver dropped him a short distance from the spot where his body was found on Wednesday. He added that police had traced the driver, who was being interrogated.
CPLC chief Zubair Habib said the murder appeared to have been motivated by personal enmity or other personal considerations.
