THE Sindh government is believed to have embarked on a comprehensive re-structuring of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE). Historically, the ACE suffered from a bloated, lower-tier workforce that often lacked the capacity to investigate complex financial crimes. As part of a sweeping administrative audit, the government has moved to abolish hundreds of excessive posts, and to replace them with high-level, specialised positions.

To investigate corruption cases involving high-ranking officials, the restructuring plan features a revamped hierarchy. To resolve the chronic shortage of investigating officers, large-scale hirings through the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) have been recommended. The restruc- turing of ACE represents a turning point towards a transparent and corruption-free provincial administration in Sindh.

By aligning organisational structures with modern demands of investigation, expanding merit-based hiring, and de-centralising regulatory power, the govern-ment is rebuilding trust in state institutions.
