OKARA: A man allegedly killed his wife over a domestic dispute in the Nizam Din locality of Dipalpur city on Tuesday.

According to the complaint, she was attending an engagement ceremony of a close relative in the Nizam Din area with her family. Her sister Kinza was also there along with her husband, Intizar, and his brother Nawaz.

The complainant claimed that on the midnight of Monday, they heard arguments coming from the house of Kinza. He said that she, along with other witnesses, rushed to the house of Intizar where they saw Intizar and Nawaz inflicting repeated blows on Kinza with sharp-edged weapons.

She claimed that the victim’s neck got separated from her body because of the brutal attack by the two men. She claimed that both suspects managed their escape from the scene.

The FIR said that the bone of contention between the couple was that the victim left her in-laws’ house to earn a living after an argument. However, the couple reconciled after their relatives mediated.

On the complaint of Kinza’s sister Uzma Bibi, the Dipalpur City Police registered a case against the two suspects.

SUSPENDED: Eight officials of the Pera Force, including an enforcement officer, were suspended during a visit of the deputy commissioner (DC) to the Pera central office in the city.

DC Muhammad Ikram Malik conducted a surprise visit to the Pera office and checked the duty register of the officials. The record showed that eight Pera officials were absent from duty without any prior permission.

The DC suspended all the officials from service and directed to initiate a departmental inquiry against them.
