TOBA TEK SINGH: Three members of a family died and as many others were injured after a motorcycle-rickshaw was hit by a speeding mini-truck near Khanuana Bypass Chowk in Faisalabad on Tuesday.
According to Rescue 1122, a family was coming from Mian Channu to Chak 228-RB, Bohghni, to attend the funeral of their relative when the mini-truck hit their motorcycle-rickshaw.
As a result, Manzoor Hussain (50), Shahnaz Bibi (47) and Muhammad Adnan (4) died while Ghulam Mustafa (25), Sughra Bibi (35) and Sakina Bibi (30) were injured. The injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital, Faisalabad.
SNAKEBITE: A woman died after a snake bit her in Chak 134, Kohliwali, in Khanewal district on Tuesday.
Reports said Razia Bibi (45) was passing along a railway track when she was bitten by a snake. She was shifted to the Mian Channu THQ Hospital where she died.
Meanwhile, a young woman was electrocuted in Mauza Old Khorla in Jhang Saddar area on Tuesday.
According to Rescue 1122, Asia Imran (23) was switching on a pedestal fan when her hand touched a live wire and she died instantly.
In another incident, a Chinese national died after being hit by a machine during work at a ceramics factory in the Allama Iqbal Industrial Estate in Chak Jhumra tehsil.
Reports said Gao Jifeng died on the spot after being hit by the machine after his shirt got stuck in it.
Separately, the roof of a roadside hotel fell on a man identified as Waliullah (50) on the Rajana Road in Samundri. He was shifted to the Samundri THQ Hospital by Rescue 1122.
KIDNAPPED: A 13-year-student of a religious seminary was allegedly abducted in Gojra on Tuesday.
The Gojra City Police claimed Sheraz of Ashraf Colony was allegedly bundled into a car by three unidentified persons outside his madrassa. Police were investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, the Gojra Saddar Police registered a case on Tuesday against unidentified persons for allegedly kidnapping Amna Bibi and her two daughters, Umme Zainab (18) and Zeba (19) from Chak 315JB.
Complainant Akbar Ali claimed in his FIR that the accused persons came by a car when he was not at home and forcibly abducted his wife and daughters.
Police were conducting raids to find the abductees.
ARREST: The Faisalabad D-Type Colony Police claimed to have arrested a four-member robbers gang, including three young women.
Police claimed that they were caught after a police team chased them when they looted a family travelling by a car. The suspects, police claimed, had deprived the family of gold ornaments, cash and mobile phones.
Police said the suspects were identified as Imran, Rukhsana, Shabbana and Surayya.
SHO Imtiaz Ahmad claimed that looted valuables worth more than Rs600,000 were recovered from their custody.
