Govt urged to repair bridge on MNJ Road

MANSEHRA: The residents of Kaghan town have demanded of the government to repair one of the foundation pillars of the central bridge on the MNJ Road, warning that damage caused by recent flash floods could disrupt traffic between KP and GB.

“Floodwaters carrying heavy boulders and rocks have eroded one of the bridge’s main pillars. If the damaged foundation is not reinforced immediately, it could weaken the structure and lead to a serious accident,” a resident, Shakar Zaman, told reporters.

He said residents had repeatedly raised the issue with local lawmakers, officials of the National Highway Authority and other relevant departments, but received no response.

Mufti Mansoor, a prayer leader, said: “If this bridge collapses, it will not only disrupt tourism and the hospitality industry in Kaghan Valley but also suspend traffic between KP and GB.”
