One dead, seven injured in rain-related incidents

NAROWAL/TOBA TEK SINGH: One man died and seven other persons were injured in parts of Faisalabad, Daska and Narowal on Thursday. Five buffaloes died and 20 were injured in Daska.

In Faisalabad, a young man died after the roof of a dilapidated house collapsed due to rain in Rehman Colony on Khurrianwala-Chak Jhumra Road. Thirty-year-old Mudassar was buried under the rubble and died. The spokesman for Rescue Sialkot said the rescuers pulled three injured children out of the rubble with the help of locals in Daska. He identified the injured as Farhan (7), Haroon (11) and Ibrahim (13) who were shifted to hospital.At the village of Sir Bajwa of Narowal, two women were injured when the roof of their house collapsed.The rescuers pulled out 32-year-old Zahida Bibi and 55-year-old Manzoor Bibi from the debris and shifted them to the District Headquarters Hospital Narowal.

In the same village, five buffaloes died and 20 buffaloes were injured after being buried under the debris when the roof of a cattle pen collapsed. In Nankana Sahib, the roof of a verandah on Syedwala Road, in Chak 17/70 RB, suddenly collapsed. As a result, 60-year-old Murad Ali and 22-year-old Waqas were injured and were shifted to Nankana DHQ Hospital.
