SUKKUR: The inspector general of prisons has suspended a police officer and two constables posted at the Sukkur Jail over the July 16 death of an undertrial prisoner.

The jail authorities had claimed that the UTP, Dinesh Kumar, had died by suicide.

The suspended policemen, Assistant Superintendent Amanullah Wassan and constables Zaheer Memon and Irshad Chachar have been accused of negligence and misconduct.
