DADU: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday said the provincial government was closely monitoring the Priya Kumari case, adding that the home minister was personally overseeing the matter.

Speaking to reporters during a one-day visit to Bhan Syedabad, he expressed the hope that the case would be resolved soon.

Talking about the recent hike in petroleum prices, he attributed it to the tensions between Iran and the United States and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Voicing concern over unannounced electricity load-shedding in Sindh, said the provincial government would take up the issue with the federal authorities to provide relief to consumers.

Earlier, Mr Shah visited Sehwan Sharif and Bhan Syedabad during his one-day tour. He offered fateha at the graves of his parents in Wahur before visiting Jhangara where he condoled with the families of the late Mushtaq Chandio and Syed Khair Ali Shah.

Later in Bhan Syedabad, he extended condolences to the families of the late Munawar and the late Muhammad Saleh Panhwar, and prayed for the departed souls.

The CM was accompanied by Makhdoom Zamir Abbasi, Saleem Bajari, Tariq Bajari, Jamshoro Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, Jamshoro SSP Muhammad Zafar Siddique Chhanga and other local dignitaries.

Strict security arrangements were in place throughout the chief minister’s tour.
