Freelancers earn $1.76bn

KARACHI: Pakistani freelancers earned a record $1.76 billion in foreign exchange in FY26, up by 78 per cent over the $984 million in FY25.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data showed that IT freelancers contributed more than $1.16bn in FY26 compared with $779m in the preceding fiscal year, a rise of 49pc or $385m. Export earnings generated by non-IT freelancers surged 188pc to $592m from $205m in FY25.
