Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has spoken by phone with his Emirati counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Al Jazeera reports citing Russian news agency RIA Novosti, which cited the foreign ministry.

The ministry says the two officials exchanged views on the situation in the Gulf, and both stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire between the US and Iran and a return to negotiations.
