LARKANA, July 13: The Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sukkur, Mr Akbar Arain, said here on Thursday that the border force would be deployed along the Sindh-Balochistan border in a couple of weeks.
Talking to newsmen, he said the process of recruitment was in a final stage, adding that two police stations and some police posts were ready to house the police personnel in the border areas.
Responding to a question regarding the 37 pending disputes among different clans in Sukkur region, he said police were trying to solve them through negotiations as the Supreme Court had banned holding of jirgas.
He said Qisas and Diyat and arbitration laws were there for settling such disputes and hopefully “we would resolve them”.
He said that police had asked the Ogahi and Teganis to strike a settlement and end killings.
