Sharjeel orders faster pace of BRT Red Line work

KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has ordered further acceleration of the work of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Red Line project.

Chairing a meeting held to review the progress of the Red Line project, Mr Memon, who also holds the transport portfolio, said that Red Line was a very important project for the convenience of Karachiites; therefore, all the ongoing construction work on it should be further accelerated so that the project can be completed within the stipulated period.

During the meeting, the relevant officials gave a detailed briefing on the overall progress of the project, various construction packages, utility shifting, construction of BRT stations, depot, infrastructure and other important issues.

On this occasion, the pace of work on various parts of the project, set targets, timeline and future phases were also informed. The senior minister also emphasised that any technical or administrative hurdles hindering the completion of the project should be removed immediately, and for this purpose, effective communication, better coordination and cooperation among all relevant institutions should be further strengthened.
