BANNU: District police have established a second Police Sahulat Markaz in the city centre to provide public with faster, easier and more efficient police services. The new facility enables citizens to access a wide range of police-related services under one roof.
According to district police officer Yasir Afridi, the PSM centre has been established to save citizens from visiting multiple offices by providing all major police services at a single location.
He said the facility offers tenant registration, police character certificates, police clearance certificates for overseas employment and visa applications, verification of the previous records of domestic workers and registration of foreign nationals in accordance with the Ministry of Interior’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The DPO added that the centre would also provide guidance and information regarding admissions up to matriculation for the children of police martyrs at the Police Welfare School in Peshawar.
Several services are available free of charge including reporting lost and found items, information on police recruitment and tender advertisements published in newspapers, free downloads of key laws of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, access to the Police Volunteer Blood Bank and traffic-related information.
DPO Yasir Afridi said this is the second Police Sahulat Markaz City Centre established in Bannu in line with the district’s growing population. The first centre, located at Saddar police station, has been providing quality services to citizens. He added that similar facilitation centres are also being established at the tehsil level to further improve public access to police services.
Members of the public have welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important step towards “people-friendly policing”. They said the new centre will save citizens both time and resources while ensuring transparent, efficient and timely delivery of police services.
