THE month of Muharram is all about remembering the great sacrifice of Imam Hussain, the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), along with his family and loyal companions who gave everything for the sake of truth and Islam. Karbala is not a story of division. It is a lesson of courage, sacrifice and standing for truth under the most severe of circumstances.
When comfort was an easy option, Hussain chose to stand for his principles. When silence was safer, he chose truth. In the land of Karbala, Hussain and his companions faced hunger, thirst and oppression, but they never gave up their faith or values. They stood against injustice even when they were far outnumbered in the battlefield.
The lesson of Ashura is clear: always stand for truth even when it is impossible to imagine doing so. Karbala teaches us patience, honesty, courage and trust in the Almighty. It reminds us all that real success is not in power or wealth, but in staying firm on what is right. Muslims should remember Karbala not only with tears, but also by following its message in daily life — helping others, speaking the truth, staying patient in hardship, and standing against injustice.
Hussain showed the world that truth can never be defeated. His sacrifice still inspires millions of hearts. We should all seek collective wisdom, patience and the strength to follow the path of truth.
