RAWALPINDI: An estate agent was gunned down over a dispute of money in Bahria Town phase VIII on Wednesday night, police said.
Mian Farrukh Latif, resident of Bahria Town lodged an FIR with the police saying that he had been engaged in the property business and jointly operated a property dealing office along with his brother-in-law, Ali Nawaz Bhatti, 43.
The complainant alleged that they had longstanding property dealings with Sajid Gilani, Muhammad Anwar and Sheikh Yousaf. According to the complainant, Ali Nawaz Bhatti had done a property deal with the suspected murderer and had been demanding settlement of the balance amount for the last about ten months but to no avail.
He said that they were in their office when the suspected murderer came in his car and called Ali Nawaz out. The three of us went outside to his car. The suspect and Ali Nawaz sat in the back seat of the car, and they proceeded towards the office of Rehman Developers.
He said that he sat in the front seat with him. He insisted on going to his office, so he took Imran Ali’s car and followed him. When they reached his office in front of Rehman Developer, both of Ali Nawaz and the suspected murderer kept talking while sitting in the car.
During this, a bitter argument and scuffle started between them. While they were scuffling, teh suspect took out a pistol and fired at Ali Nawaz, who was seriously injured after being shot in the head.
The police have registered a case under section 302/34/109 PPC and launched an investigation into the case.
