LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Multan, on Monday claimed to have arrested a suspect involved in human trafficking in Bahawalpur.

According to details, FIA was carrying out operation against the suspects involved in human trafficking and smuggling on the directions of Director FIA Multan Zone Ataur Rehman.

A team conducted a raid in Bahawalpur and arrested a proclaimed offender Muhammad Javed. The accused was arrested in a case of AHTC Bahawalpur U/S 17/22 EO 1979. The accused extorted an amount of Rs 13,600,000 from the complainant for sending him to UAE on work visa but didn’t fulfil his commitment.

The team shifted the accused to Multan and started the investigation.
