GUJRAT: A huge waiting area for visitors and attendants of patients has been established in front of the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital Trauma Center.

Deputy Commissioner Nurulain Qureshi and a senior citizen Mian Khursheed jointly inaugurated the facility. Medical Superintendent Dr Saud Afzal, president of Rasheeda Shafi Foundation Imtiaz Kausar and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Briefing the participants of the inaugural ceremony, Imtiaz Kausar said that the project had been executed as a public-private partnership for which the administration provided land adjacent to the trauma center whereas the foundation provided a sum of Rs 5 million.

He said big electric fans and benches have also been installed.The DC commended the services and efforts of local philanthropists in the provision of facilities to the masses in collaboration with the administration. She vowed to continue efforts for the improvement of services at the ABSTH and other health facilities.

The waiting area is also surrounded by greenery where trees have been planted to make it environment friendly.
