LAKKI MARWAT: Staff of DI Khan Wildlife Division released 70 grey partridges (Francolinus pondicerianus) in Special Game Reserve Sheikh Baddin here on Friday.
The birds were generously donated by Malik Kashif Adeel Mahra as part of ongoing efforts to support restoration, propagation and sustainable management of indigenous wildlife populations in the reserve.
The release has been undertaken in accordance with wildlife conservation objectives aimed at strengthening local partridge populations, enhancing genetic diversity and improving ecosystem resilience within the protected area, Project director Special Game Reserve Project Khan Malook Khan said on the occasion.
He said that the initiative reflected importance of public participation in wildlife conservation and demonstrated a commendable partnership between the local community and the Wildlife Department.
“Such conservation-oriented interventions contribute significantly to species recovery, habitat enhancement, biodiversity conservation and the long-term ecological sustainability of protected areas,” he said.
