NAWABSHAH: Three of a family died while as many others were in serious condition after taking the alleged poisonous meal in Mehrabpur, Naushahro Feroze district, on Thursday.

Having breakfast, the six family members fainted after which they were rushed to Rural Health Centre Mehrabpur where doctors pronounced two-year-old Nehan Akhtar dead while all others were referred to Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS).

Irshad Asghar, 25, and Ihtisham Aijaz, 27, died on way to the GIMS whereas Irfan Ali, his wife Saima and Usman Akhtar were admitted in serious condition.

SHO Raja Naveed Sarfaraz told reporters that investigations were underway.
