TEHERAN: A usually reliable Iranian source said on Friday [June 15] that the Iranian Government was considering stopping all oil supplies to British tankers if the Anglo-Ira­nian Oil Company does not give a satisfactory reply to Iranian demands for … 75 per cent of all oil revenues since the nationalisation of the industry. The Iranian Government has ma­de Tuesday the dead-line for a reply to their Thursday’s demand. The source said if a satisfactory reply was not handed … by Tues­day evening all petrol and oil deliveres to Brit­ish tankers might be stopped on Wednesday.

No firm decision has yet been taken by the Iranian Government, the source added, but the stoppage order is … under “active consideration”.

[Meanwhile, according to news agencies in Karachi,] Cool showers are expected to greet the heat-burn citizens of [the city] by the end of this month. The Federal Capital, which was the second hottest town in Pakis­tan on Friday [June 15] had a comparatively cooler atmosphere on Saturday when the mercury dropped down to 102 degrees Fah­r­enheit. The weather prophets said though the heat wave had spent its force, dry wea­ther would prevail during the next five days. The nights would, however, be cloudy… .
