BAJAUR: Residents of six village councils in Lowi Mamund tehsil here the other day resented the prolonged delay in launching rehabilitation work of the Kamar-Mena Road and warned of holding a protest demonstration if work was not initiated within a week.
The decision was made during a meeting attended by elders and political and social activists from different areas of the six village councils.
The participants expressed grave concern over the delay in launching work on the about five-kilometre Kamar-Mena Road, which they said was approved around six years ago.
They pointed out that former PTI MNA Gul Zafar Khan had told them in 2020 when he announced the approval of the project that work on the scheme would be launched within a week.
However, they alleged that work was yet to be initiated on the project, which connects dozens of villages of six village councils in Lowi Mamund with each other and the rest of the region.
