Dispute between lawyers, revenue officials resolved

SAHIWAL: The stand-off between revenue officers, including patwaris, and the Chichawatni Tehsil Bar Association has been settled and both parties have reached a compromise.

Muhamamd Hussain Saghla, president of District Bar Association, said the lawyers at Chichawatni had settled the dispute with tehsil administration.

TBA Chichawatni President Sajid Iqbal Gujjar led the lawyer’s delegation.

City Police DSP Chichawatni Saleem Rath told Dawn that both FIRS against the lawyers would also be quashed. The FIRs were registered against 60-70 lawyers, including Tajamal Hussain, Mujahid Hussain, Sohail Iqbal, Musrat Bhatti, Rana Adeel and Muhammad Tayyab, on the complaint of Patwari Zulqarnain and Naib Tehsildar Gulam Mustafa.

CTD: The regional office of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested operatives affiliated with banned outfits of Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan in separate raids on Jhal Road.

The suspects were spreading hate material, including pamphlets, stickers, and books.

In the first incident, the suspect, identified as Muhammad Yasin, a resident of Chak 82-EB, Pakpattan, was distributing hate material linked to Sipah-i-Sahaba near a private school near Chak 101/ 6-R.

In another incident, Muhammad Hussain, a resident of Chak 82/ 6-R, district Pakpattan, was found with 10 booklets containing hate material and donation vouchers.
