LAKKI MARWAT: A quadcopter struck an oil and gas plant in the Banda Daud Shah town of Karak district on Tuesday.

A police official confirmed the attack, saying that the quadcopter dropped explosives on the plant but it didn’t cause any loss of human life.

“The attack prompted the police to rush to the gas plant,” he said.

He said District Police Officer Imran Khan, along with a contingent, also reached the site and reviewed the security arrangements. He inspected the site of the attack and led a search operation to track down the assailants.

“The law enforcement personnel also used drone cameras for aerial surveillance of the mountainous area in search of the attackers,” he added.

He said the police beefed up security across the district, especially around the important installations.

Meanwhile, a man was killed and four others, including a minor girl, were injured when two groups exchanged fire in the Tor Adam Kallay area of the Latambar town of Karak on Tuesday.

Police and rescue officials identified the deceased as Sher Daud and said that the injured included three women and a minor girl.

They said that the body and the injured were transported to hospitals in Karak and Bannu districts. “Police are investigating the incident,” they added.
