THATTA: A local court has ordered registration of two criminal cases against more than 50 police officers and personnel for their alleged involvement in acts of arson, looting and torture, besides abduction of women and children, during a violent raid in a village near Buhara town.
The order was issued by Second Additional Sessions Judge Ghulam Murtaza on an application filed by a villager, Mohammad Ali Khaskheli.
The applicant alleged that the police team raided homes in Yar Mohammad Khaskheli village two weeks ago and resorted to beating up families, torching several homes and abducting women and children.
The judge ordered registration of an FIR against Mirpur Sakro SHO Fida Hussain Khaskheli, Garho SHO Asad Elahi, Ghora Bari SHO Majid Korai, CIA Thatta in-charge Zulfiqar Khan, Buhara police post in-charge Bakhsh Ali Lakho and their more than 50 subordinates.
The court also ordered registration of a separate FIR regarding the alleged abduction of minor girls, Parveen and Samreen, and two women identified as Ms Hameeda and Ms Khairi.
