CHINIOT: PML-N MPA Saqib Khan Chadhar has filed an application with the Bhowana Police Station against a sister of actress Momina Iqbal, accusing her of criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of Rs8 million allegedly entrusted to her for keeping in her bank account.
The move comes weeks after an FIR was registered against the MPA at the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Lahore.
According to the application, Saqib said he had longstanding family relations with Rimsha Iqbal’s family. He alleged that Rimsha requested him to transfer Rs8 million to her bank account as a “trust amount” required for processing an Australian visa, assuring him that the money would be returned after completion of the visa process.
The MPA claimed that he transferred Rs3.9m through a cheque and handed over the remaining Rs4.1m in cash in the presence of witnesses Javed Iqbal and Bilal Akbar.
He further alleged that after completion of the visa procedure, he repeatedly demanded the return of the money, but Rimsha kept delaying repayment on one pretext or another.
He said she later refused to return the amount and allegedly threatened him with dire consequences if he continued demanding the money back.
Saqib requested police to register a case against Rimsha Iqbal on charges of criminal breach of trust.
Bhowana Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Asadullah told Dawn that the complaint was received on Sunday and had been forwarded to DSP Muhammad Saleem for inquiry.
It merits mentioning that a few weeks ago, another case regarding alleged threats to the MPA was also registered.
According to police records, Naveed Abbas, cousin of Saqib Chadhar, got an FIR registered on May 17, 2026, against an unidentified caller under sections 506 and 507 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 25 of the Telegraph Act, 1885, for allegedly threatening to kill the MPA.
Police have so far not arrested anyone in that case as the SIM was registered in the name of a woman from Pakpattan district.
