TOBA TEK SINGH: Two children drowned while bathing in a canal near the locality of Shah Sadiq Nihang in Shorkot tehsil of Jhang on Monday.
Rescue 1122 officials said a team reached the spot where local residents had already pulled the children out of the canal on a self-help basis.
The rescuers checked their vital signs, but both children had already died. The bodies were shifted to THQ Hospital Shorkot through a Rescue 1122 ambulance.
The deceased were identified as Rizwan (7) and Rashid (9).
ACCIDENT: A Suthra Punjab agency rickshaw driver was killed and his companion injured after a speeding bus hit their vehicle near Abdullahpur Mor at Athara Hazari tehsil.
The deceased was identified as Mahmood Ahmad (28), while the injured man was identified as Sajid Ali (32). Police arrested the bus driver, Muhammad Irfan, a resident of Faisalabad.
MURDER: A street vendor was murdered by an unidentified assailant in Jhang city.
Police said Iqbal (5), a resident of Chak 215-JB, was present near Chungi on Khokharanwala Link Road when a man attacked him with a sharp-edged chopper, leaving him critically injured. He died on the spot.
ELECTROCUTED: An 18-year-old youth was electrocuted near Al-Qaim Rice Mills on Pattan Road in Shorkot.
Police said Zeeshan Haider was attempting to switch on a pedestal fan at his house when he accidentally touched a live electric wire and suffered a fatal electric shock.
