SRINAGAR, July 7: Suspected militants shot dead an Indian soldier on Friday during a gunbattle near the LoC, police said.

Police said the fighting took place in Kalaroos area of the Kupwara district. Also on Friday suspected militant killed a former colleague by slitting his throat in southern Pulwama district, police said.—AFP
