KARACHI: Forty-one Afghans living in Bombay province have called upon the people of Afghanistan to “put an end to the dictatorial rule in Afghanistan”, according to a message received in Karachi on Wednesday [June 6]. In a joint statement the Afghans declared that the present “ruling clique” was pursuing an un-Islamic policy which was dangerous to the integrity of not only the Muslim world but Islam itself. “We appeal to all people in Afghanistan to keep alive the movement against the present ruling clique. This is your duty for which you should not hesitate to make any sacrifices,” they added.
The statement says: “The present selfish one-family rule in Afghanistan is dangerous both for Islam and the people of that country. In the present democratic age such dictatorial rule and the suppression of elementary freedom cannot be tolerated. We are happy to see our neighbour — Pakistan, which is an Islamic State, making progress... .
“The people of Afghanistan must ... help liberate their countrymen from the yoke of the ... one-family rule which has ruined their country and brought disgrace to the fair name of the Afghans.”
