Two held for issuing fake route permits, fitness certificates

TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad FIA claims to have unearthed an organised network involved in preparing and issuing fake route permits and fitness certificates of vehicles and arrested two suspects.

An FIA press release said on Friday that on a complaint from the Faisalabad regional transport authority (RTA) secretary, an investigation was initiated and during the probe, verification was done through the vehicle route permit regime (VRPR) system.

It claimed that the investigation revealed that route permits and vehicle fitness certificates were fake and illegally prepared. It said that on the completion of the investigation, the FIA team led by SHO Ajmal Hussain raided a shop located in Faisalabad’s Kutchery Bazaar and Muhammad Waqas and Muhammad Tahir Javed were arrested.

It claimed that during the raid, mobile phones and a laptop were also recovered containing national identity cards, driving licenses, route permits, fitness certificates and various softwares and digital records used in forgery.

It said that based on the available evidence, a case had been registered at the Faisalabad FIA Composite Circle and the recovered digital devices had been seized for forensic analysis.

It said that further investigation was underway to identify and arrest other individuals involved in the network.

SUICIDE: A man allegedly committed suicide in the Shamasabad area located on the Chak Jhumra Road in Faisalabad on Friday.

Rescue 1122 said that Waseem Maseeh hanged himself from the ceiling fan of his house due to unknown reasons.

Meanwhile, two children received critical burn injuries after boiling water fell on them in their house located in Chak 457 JB on the Gojra Bypass Road in Jhang.

Rescuers shifted the siblings, identified as Somia Bibi (5) and Muhammad Subhan (4), to the Jhang DHQ Hospital.

ARREST: Police have arrested the plaintiff and the victim for allegedly refusing to recognise the rape accused men in the court in exchange for money.

Police spokesperson told reporters on Friday that the complainant had registered a case of gang rape against two suspects at the Sargodha Road police station. He had claimed that his son A had been kidnapped and gang-raped by the two men.

The spokesperson said that when investigation officer Shoukat Ali arrested the accused persons and produced them before Additional District and Sessions Judge Rana Suhail, the complainant and his son appeared in the court and gave an affidavit that both the accused were not the rapists. Over this, the court released them on bail.

In the FIR registered on the complaint of IO Shoukat Ali, he claimed that both the victim and the complainant had received money for reconciliation.

Police have arrested the father and son.
