ISLAMABAD: PTI leaders returned empty-handed from Adiala jail once again after the authorities did not allow them to meet party founder Imran Khan on Thursday.

A day earlier, the party sent a list of six leaders to the jail authorities for the court-mandated meeting with Imran Khan. The list included names of Seemabia Tahir, Usman Jora, Asad Abbas, Malik Yasir Patwali, Malik Azeem, and Rohail Anjum.

Malik Yasir Patwali, while talking to Dawn, said that all leaders reached the prison before 2pm. “We informed that we have been nominated for the meeting, as per directions of the IHC, but we were told that a message was being sent to get approval.” He said they waited there till 4pm and then returned after the visiting hours ended. Officials also made our video footage, he added.

“As my name has been included in the list, I have become eligible to file a contempt application by myself. I will discuss it with some lawyers and will file the application,” he said.

Seemabia Tahir, while talking to Dawn, said that the police did not allow them to move towards the jail and asked them to park their vehicles on the road. “We recorded our protest and then returned. We demand that Imran Khan be admitted to the Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment,” she said.
