21 booked for attacking cops in Faisalabad

TOBA TEK SINGH: As many as 21 persons have been booked under the terrorism act on Thursday for allegedly attacking policemen during a raid in Chak 208 RB to arrest the accused in an incident of firing outside the district courts complex a few days earlier.

Complainant Kotwali Police SHO Arsalan Bari claimed in the FIR registered with the Faisalabad Madina Town Police that he along with other policemen conducted a raid to arrest the accused persons. He claimed that accused Rizwan Sajid Dogar, his 10 nominated accomplices and as many unidentified companions opened indiscriminate fire on the police party.

He claimed that all cops remained unhurt and all 21 accused managed to flee.

It is pertinent to mention that Rizwan and others had earlier been booked under the 7-ATA for opening fire outside the district courts complex and allegedly injuring two of their rivals.

COPS BOOKED: Two Mianwali City Police officials have been booked by Faisalabad’s D-Type Colony Police for negligence due to which an under arrest theft case accused fled from their custody late on Wednesday night.

Complainant Mianwali City SHO Asif Sultan claimed in the FIR that accused Mianwali City Sub Inspector Akram Khan and ASI Dildar Hussain got custody of theft case accused Ali Akbar of Sahiwal from Faisalabad district jail on travel remand to take him to Mianwali to probe theft cases.

He claimed that both accused police officers were having a meal at a hotel on the Samundri Road in Faisalabad when after a scuffle with them, accused Ali Akbar freed himself from custody and escaped.

Both accused policemen were yet to be arrested.

CONVICTED: Faisalabad Additional District and Sessions Judge Naveed ul Rehman handed down a total of 57 years of imprisonment along with a fine of Rs2.92 million to a drug dealer in different sections of a narcotics case.

According to a police spokesperson, convict Muhammad Shabbir Hussain of Chak 203 RB was arrested by the Gulberg Police on April 8, 2024 and they recovered a large quantity of hashish, opium, ice and heroin from his custody.
