BADIN: A youth drowned while cooling himself in a canal near Badin on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Salam Samoon, 26, a resident of Ward No. 4, along Serani Road.

His family said that he had gone to Mir Wah (canal) to cool himself but descended into deep water and drowned. Locals present at the site rushed to his rescue but managed only to fish out his body.

The body was shifted to the Indus (Civil) Hospital for legal formalities and then handed over to the heirs.
