RAWALPINDI: Special security arrangements were put in place on the arrival of an advance security official from the Australian cricket team, who also visited Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday to review the security arrangements ahead of the Australian team’s arrival.
Australian official Greg Bishop, who arrived in Islamabad on Thursday morning. On his arrival, Rawalpindi police made a special security plan to escort him to Islamabad amid tight security. He visited the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and reviewed the security and other arrangements regarding the upcoming one-day international ODI series.
The Australian cricket team is touring Pakistan for a three-match ODI series scheduled to start from May 30 to June 4, 2026.
The Australian squad will arrive in Islamabad on May 23, 2026, with its first ODI match to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and later two matches in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
As part of the security, six police pickets were established along the route from IIAP to Islamabad. SP Potohar Division Babar Mumtaz was supervising the security.
The relevant officials of sports and security were also present during the visit. Foolproof security arrangements had been made during the visit to the cricket stadium.
