Banned outfits, NGOs stopped from collecting hides on Eid in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: District administration in pursuance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department’s orders has imposed a complete ban on collection of hides by the banned outfits and non-governmental organisations across the district during Eidul Azha.

“In pursuance of the government order, I impose a complete ban on the use of loudspeakers for the collection of sacrificial hides and on establishing collection points anywhere in the district,” Mian Behzad Adil, the deputy commissioner, said in an official order issued here on Tuesday.

The order, a copy of which was obtained by this scribe, revealed that the KP home and tribal affairs department, through a letter issued the other day, had directed the authorities regarding the collection of hides and skin donations during Eidul Azha by charity and such organisations which were already banned in the country.

“I, Mian Behzad Adil, Deputy Commissioner Mansehra, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under Section 144 of the CrPC, hereby prohibit the use of loudspeakers for the collection of hides and ban forcing or harassing people for the collection of hides and skins by charity organisations or banned outfits anywhere in the district,” the order further stated.

According to the order, nobody would be allowed to carry arms during the Eid holidays within the jurisdiction of Mansehra district.

“This order comes into force with immediate effect and shall remain enforced for the next 20 days across the district,” the official order further revealed.

According to the letter, any person contravening the order shall be liable to be punished under Section 188 of the PPC.
