ISTANBUL, July 5: Turkish energy firm Zorlu Enerji Grubu plans to build a 50mw wind farm in Pakistan and increase capacity there by up to 2,700mw by 2015, it said on Wednesday.

Zorlu said it had signed a letter of intent to build the wind farm in its first deal in Pakistan, worth $80-100 million.

It would operate the facility for 20 years, it said in a statement. By 2015 it aims to install 1,800 to 2,700mw of wind capacity in Pakistan, it said.

The company also said it aimed to expand in Russia.
