Every day, we all face challenges that provoke our emotions. Sometimes these emotions are positive, such as pleasure, happiness and joy, but most of the time people tend to experience negative emotions such as anger.

Nowadays, people get angry very quickly. People do not only get angry with those they know, but also with strangers. Social media, for example, plays a major role in generating negative emotions among people. I am not saying that social media only has bad effects, but somewhere it is influencing people negatively. It has become one of the reasons for growing anger and hatred among people. Many negative posts are shared online, which affect people emotionally and spread negativity further.

These days, people are extremely busy, especially in cities. If they get late for work because of traffic or any other reason, they often take out their frustration on others. Everyone seems ready to argue or fight at any moment. People simply want to prove themselves right at any cost, and this attitude triggers even more negative emotions.

It is normal to feel angry when you are frustrated or upset about something, but expressing anger in the wrong way is never okay. It not only affects you, but also the people around you and your relationship with them. Wrongly expressed anger can lead you towards regret and take away your peace of mind.

Anger is a natural emotion, but when it is expressed in the wrong way, it can damage relationships, peace of mind and even our future

Everyone has a different way of expressing anger. Some isolate themselves, while others say hurtful things to people around them. Both ways can be harmful, because such behaviour damages relationships and distances you from your loved ones. When you are angry, you should never say hurtful words because, once spoken, they can never truly be taken back.

I know that sometimes it is not easy to let go and forgive someone. But if you continue holding onto anger, you become a prisoner of it and that will only destroy your inner peace. Anger often pushes people towards revenge, but revenge is never a good solution.

The best revenge is often proving people wrong through your success. For example, when someone humiliates you or says that you cannot achieve anything in life, instead of becoming upset, take it as a challenge to improve yourself and succeed. Always try to express your anger in a positive and productive way. Saying hurtful words or physically hurting someone in anger is one of the worst ways to express emotions. Achievements, accomplishments and success are much better responses, because actions always speak louder than words.

Anger can also distract you. Your focus shifts from creativity and productivity towards hatred and revenge, and such distractions only damage your work and peace of mind. Therefore, whenever you feel angry, try to focus more on your work and use your energy in a productive way. Instead of overthinking the situation, shift your attention towards something meaningful that helps calm your mind.

Holding grudges does not only affect others, but also harms your own mental and emotional health. In anger, people often say many things that later make them feel guilty. Afterwards, they wish they could erase those moments, but that is impossible. Slowly, this guilt can become a burden and may even lead towards depression.

Most of the time, people take out their anger on innocent individuals. For example, a man frustrated because of office work may return home and vent his anger on his wife and children. In this way, innocent people suffer for something they had nothing to do with. That is why people should never mix their professional frustrations with their personal lives.

Instead of expressing anger harshly, it is better to calmly tell others that you are not in the mood to talk because something is bothering you and that you will speak later. Once you feel calm again, you can explain what was upsetting or troubling you in a mature way.

Learning to control anger is not easy, but it is necessary. If people learn how to express their emotions wisely and calmly, they can protect their relationships, improve their mental peace and live a happier life.
