Qatar PM, US VP Vance talk ‘lasting peace’ in the Middle East
Qatar’s prime minister has discussed ending the war on Iran and bringing lasting stability to the Middle East in a meeting with US Vice President JD Vance in Washington, DC, Al Jazeera reports.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Vance, who arrived earlier in Washington, DC, spoke about the ongoing efforts of Pakistan in mediating peace proposals between the two sides, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
During the meeting, the two talked about “the necessity for all parties to respond to the ongoing mediation efforts in a manner that opens the door to addressing the roots of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, leading to the achievement of a comprehensive agreement that realizes lasting peace in the region”.
