EU agency opens door to using US jet fuel due to shortages linked with Iran war

Al Jazeera reports that the EU Aviation Safety Agency has cleared the way for the possible use of US jet fuel in the bloc, which is seeking ways to confront the threat of fuel shortages due to the war on Iran, especially Jet A-1 grade fuel.

In new recommendations on Jet A, a US-produced fuel not currently used in Europe for technical reasons, EASA said: “A potential introduction of Jet A in Europe or in other parts of the world would not generate safety concerns provided that its introduction is properly managed.”
